    One thing that strikes about this film is that never has any film made the banking industry seem so much similar to an espionage film. The plot of the film happens to be the weakest link with absolutely no substance in it. The story of the film is about an Interpol agent named Louis who is investigating into the affairs of a certain IBBC, which lends money to people without even doing a background check on them. Clive Owen plays the trigger happy Louis, who is shown shooting guns for most of the duration of the film. Naomi Watts who is there in the film in the role of a New York investigator joins Owen in his exploits. There are a lot of bullets flying around throughout the film, and at the end of the film it turns out to be a complete mess. The director Tom Tykwer should however be appreciated for making the nbanking industry look so different.

    Taken is an action film that has Liam Neeson playing the role of an operative with CIA. He plays the role of Bryan who has long retired from CIA, but has no family with him, as his wife had already left him and was married to another guy, and he has very less interactions with his daughter who treats him like a stranger. In order to break the ice with his daughter Leeson allows her to go on a trip with other friends to France, where they are kidnapped and sold away by sex traders. What begins then is a through and through thriller with Bryan going to France in order to find and bring his daughter back. He is helped in his quest by his sources in the French police. The film is an absolute delight for action movie lovers, and is finely paced. Leeson acts well as the middle aged father trying to bring back his daughter in this movie.

    It seems that directors are running out of ideas as to what films should they be actually making for their audiences. This is why films such as The Unborn end up being made. There is a confusing storyline in this horror flick, which would make audiences wonder why they even bothered to watch the movie. The main storyline of the film is about a girl who is being chased by a ghost, who wants to take possession of her body. The identity of the ghost is revealed to be the twin of the girl who got killed when it was in the womb. With such a storyline what more can audiences expect from the film. The protagonist is played by Odette Yustman, who is no good at acting and just manages to look attractive. One view of this movie and audiences would wonder why the film was even made.

    Quarantine is one of those sub standard horror films that are released and very soon forgotten by the audience. The storyline of the film is very weak and this is one of the major reasons why the film fails to connect with the audience. In trying to come up with something different, the scriptwriter has made a complete mess of the story. The film is about a reporter named Angela played by Jennifer Carpenter and the adventure that she has while doing a project on the local firefighters in town. What follows is a terrifying experience with plots that seem a bit crazy. There are flesh eaters in the film who infect people with rabies, who are the trouble makers and the reporter gets trapped along with the firefighters and her cameraman in a building with these flesh eating beings. The film then deals with the way she copes with the problem and comes out of the building.

    Death Race is a good film that has been able to impress audiences with the concept and action in it. The film shows a modern day prison, where prisoners must compete against each other in races in order to walk out free from the prison. They race against each other in cars that are armed with a lot of weapons and the prisoners not only must compete in the race, but also kill each other in order to win. The warden of the prison earns money by broadcasting these races live, and so makes sure that the prisoners come up with a good performance in the races. Jason Statham and the other actors in the movie have done a good job in the movie and the film has greatly been liked audiences who have liked the action and races that have been shown in the film. The film is expected to do well at the box office.

    Although there have been a lot of Batman films that have preceded this Christopher Nolan directed film, none have been able to impress audiences and critics alike. The film is marked by the fine acting skills of the actors, who are one of the main reasons been making the film the success that it has become. The performance by Heath Ledger has been the high point in the film. Even though he has played the role of the anti-hero in the film he is the one who has impressed the most in the film. In spite of being an action film ‘The Dark Knight’ is more of a performance oriented film, and rides high on the performance of the actors acting in the film. The film also scores high on the technical front as well and the entire film has been shot really well. ‘The Dark Knight’ is a complete package and audiences must not have seen such a good film in recent years.

    There have been so many thrillers that have been made by movie makers in Hollywood that audiences and critics seem to have lost count of them. Most of these films have been so popular that they are still watched by people as eagerly as they were watched years ago when they were released. However most of the thrillers that are released nowadays have failed to impress much and this can also be said about the Bryan Bertino directed ‘The Strangers’ that stars Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman in leading roles. The movie although is quite interesting at times, has been made uninteresting by stretching the main plot too long in the movie. The movie could have done much better had the story been made a bit more interesting than what it is originally. Having seen better thrillers in the past, it is quite obvious that audiences will be giving this film a miss.

    Whenever Manoj Night Shyamalan comes out with a film, people have high expectations with him. This is why when the film ‘The Happening’ was released both critics and audiences across the world hoped that it would be another fine piece of art from Shyamalan. Like most of his other films this film too deals with strange happenings. In the film it is shown that for unknown reasons a lot of people suddenly start committing suicide in New York City. The main characters in the film are played by Mark Wahlberg, Zooey Deschanel, John Leguizamo, Ashlyn Sanchez, Betty Buckley, and Spencer Breslin. Although the technicalities and direction in the film is not bad, the director has not been able to translate his talents onto the screen. The film fails to impress in terms of the way the characters have shaped out in the film. The film seems to be set to o average business in the box office.

    A movie that includes everything mentioned in its title, from the beginning to the end. Directed by Marcel Langenegger, the thriller is about an accountant, Jonathan McQuarry, who comes in acquaintance of Wyatt Bose, another lawyer. From there on Wyatt sends Jonathan on a trip that involves some of the most intriguing desires of men, followed by deception.

    Deception stars Ewan McGregor as Jonathan, Hugh Jackman as Wyatt, and a list of female actors including the sensational Maggie Q, Natasha Henstridge and Michelle Williams. Each of these girls plays a vital role in the journey of Jonathan and would be responsible for both his fall and rise in the end.

    Although the name might find interest, critics and viewers did not seem to be very moved by the plot. The movie came and went out of the Box Office list silently enough for very few to notice, as does most other films in Hollywood.

    Directed by David Moreau and Xavier Palud, The Eye is a captivating thriller involving the strange encounters of Sydney Wells. It is remake of a Hong Kong-Thai-Singaporean film with same name, where the violinist is gifted the eyesight, only for a greater cause. The spirit of the cornea donor has a greater task for Sydney that she must understand and carry out.

    Starring Jessica Alba as the Violinist, Sydney Wells, the movie closely revolves around the plot of the cornea transplant and strange occurrences after that. It might seem at times that, this portion seems familiar from before, although the story promises something different.

    As far as the Box Office was concerned, the movie did gross its budget, but for the critics it seemed to be a little too shabby. The thrill in this thriller was not that overwhelming, even when it came to the suspense; the finishing to the movie was something that no one expected and it naturally had mixed reactions.

    Where to start a review of a film that has been the subject of much attention and hype during final months leading up to its release?

    Bigger that speculation about what the monster of the film would be the result, the hunt for clues viral websites, which “Slusho” has to do with the film – has been the question: After all the hype , will it be a great movie or a great disappointment?

    So sorry to disappoint all negativistas but Cloverfield shook.

    Will it win an Oscar or Golden Globe? Heck no. It’s fun and exciting to sit through? Hell yes. This is what the ridiculously weak American version of Godzilla that emerged a few years ago should have been.

    The next review will be free of the major spoilers – to the point where I am not going to say, even if the images that have been making the rounds lately are accurate portraits of monsters or not. :-)

    Cloverfield opens with a color bar pattern on the screen (which did produce some unintended laughter from the audience), but after a few seconds cuts and a government official saying the future title:

    “Multiple sightings case of designating ‘Cloverfield’ camera recovered in the USA 447 incident site formerly known as” Central Park ”

    Yes, this was demonstrated in the trailer, but as the film is beginning to impress you that this will not end well.

    When there is cut from a digital camera white hand inside a very nice apartment high in the city of New York, it’s quite amazing (and I thought, it does not make sense). Here we met beautiful Beth (Odette Yustman), and the man behind the camera, which we presume to be her boyfriend, Rob. Rob (played by Michael Stahl-David) is the fellow to whom the farewell party is being pulled because of a new job as vice president of a company in Japan.

    Since there seems to be that the person in charge of the camcorder likes rather burn anything and everything because people still walking on the streets of New York City and in the apartment of Rob being prepared for a surprise farewell party for him. We met with Rob’s brother Jason (Mike Vogel), which has been commissioned by his girlfriend Lilly (Jessica Lucas), with recording of “testimonies” of all guests at the party. Jason is not satisfied and managed to hand off the job to the best friend of Rob Hud, who at first reluctantly takes up the task. Eventually Skin begins to enjoy it as the night goes on and you get a little drunk while faithfully filming everything that is happening.

    He also met a young woman named Marlena (played by Lizzy Kaplan), which has its eye on Skin, but it can not seem to weapons of value (or charm) to speak properly. At that time the public is finally getting absorbed in the total camcorder viewpoint, but it does take a while. The official opening of the Government of the film is not quite jive with all this material preliminary, but over time it does get to where he wants to keep the Skin recording because “someone should see this.”

    As we all know now, is this part that all hell breaks loose and when it happens it is very effective. I encountered thinking of Asian horror movies, where until things hit the fan who can be incredibly trivial and almost boring, which certainly makes it a much more jarring effect when things veer toward the bizarre.

    There is a lot of humor in the film, mostly provided by cameraman Skin (played by unknown TJ Miller, not much can be seen but whose presence is felt constantly). One thing I found amusing, in particular, was moments after the initial attack, where the head of the Statue of Liberty expires in the middle of a street in Manhattan, while some people are yelling and screaming “Oh my God!” A lot of people gather around the head in the midst of chaos calmly to take pictures of her with their cell phones and digital cameras.

    I did not expect the movie to be funny at all, but humor is sprinkled throughout the film very effectively, in time to relieve the tension of what was happening on the screen. Cloverfield also has a much larger scale than I expected taking into account the premise hand, which show views of the city and shooting across the creature. Conversely, if absolutely HATE “nervous camera” style of the film I must say that this movie is not for you. Well, perhaps if you sit in the last row.

    Now, when I say a larger scale, “are not going to wait for some mega-production … Although the effects are also effective, it is most intimate of a film in which the five friends to know and experience what goes through your eyes in real time.

    Yes, 9 / 11 did not come to mind and yes, it makes me a bit uncomfortable. But what I liked was that in some ways it is almost cathartic (just stay with me here): As the people on the street that day did not know exactly what was happening despite the fact that witnessed first-hand, the characters in the film (and the audience) experience similar confusion in the face of disaster of a different kind here.

    With regard to viral marketing for this movie: At the end, the final product fits perfectly. It really is a small film about a small group of friends with the occasional “big” scene here and there.

    The creature is very cool and has a kind of H.P. Lovecraft gaze on him, and offered some surprises. The characters are credible, well-acted for this kind of film and that is extremely important, because if we do not worry about them you had nothing (cough, AVP-R, cough).

    Adapted from the novel of the same name by Scott Smith, The Ruins is horror movie directed by Carter Smith and released in 2008. The plot revolves around four Americans during their vacation to Mexico. On meeting a German tourist, they embark on the quest to search for the person’s lost brother and his girlfriend near some ruins.

    The film stars Jonathan Tucker, Laura Ramsey, Jena Malone, Shawn Ashmore and Joe Anderson in the lead. The scenes involving the vines getting onto you is somewhat creepy and sends down shivers through your spine. The finishing is also interesting in implying that you can never get away from the vines, if you have been at The Ruins.

    The Ruins received mixed review from the critics and did alright for a horror movie, with almost similar plots as its predecessors. Nevertheless, a one time watch in the dark and lonely atmosphere could be quite enjoying.
