Films like Mamma Mia have high expectations from the audiences and critics as well, due to the names that are associated with it. With actors like Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth featuring in the cast the film was expected to be an audience’s delight, but the film has not been able to meet the expectations. There are a lot of songs in the film that are targeted at making the film a feel good film for the audiences. However the film fails to impress much as there is not much of a story in the film, and it is one of the main reasons why the film has been more of a let down. Phyllida Lloyd has directed the film, and had also been responsible for the stage version of the movie that had been released much earlier. Most of the characters do not have much to do in the movie in terms of acting, and the movie has prove to be more of a debacle at the box office.
