    Speed Racer is the adaptation of the Japanese anime series of same name, and was released in 2008. Directors Larry and Andy Wachowski did a good job in bringing the anime to life with action packed racing sequences. Most of the movie revolves around the fictional racing tracks, with the idea of Speed Racer surpassing his brother Rex Racer, as a driver.

    Starring Emile Hirsch, as the lead character Speed, and Cristina Ricci, as his girlfriend Trixie, the adventures of Speed Racer take you through a heart stopping sequence of races. The movie is about Speed trying to beat his all time rival Racer X on a track that took away his brother’s life.

    Fans, having grown up watching the anime version, were ecstatic to see the Mach 5, Speed’s racing car once again in the movie after a long time. It had a fair success at the Box Office and was second in ranking. A fast paced movie that has lots of drifts and drags, which are often fantastic to the teens.

    The Wachowski bros certainly put a lot of effort into making Speed Racer… but the movie overall looked and felt like a cross between anime, a kaleidoscope, that Flintstones movie, a video game and the Dukes of Hazard
